Dr. Sean Michael Rider Board Certified, Fellowship Trained
Northshore Spine Surgeon, Dr. Sean Michael Rider was born and raised in Eunice, Louisiana. He received his Bachelor’s degree at LSU in Baton Rouge before moving down to New Orleans to complete medical school at LSU Health in New Orleans. Dr. Rider went on to receive incredible training at Harvard Medical School during his 5-year residency before moving to St. Louis to complete his spine surgery fellowship at Washington University.
When asked why Dr. Rider wanted to become a highly trained spine specialist he says “Making people feel better – as a spine surgeon, I have the honor to make a positive impact on someone’s life. This opportunity allows me to have one of the most fulfilling careers possible.”
Dr. Rider treats patients with spine conditions including cervical and thoracic myelopathy, radiculopathy, sciatica, herniated discs, neck or back pain, degenerative disc disease, stenosis, neurogenic claudication, traumatic injuries, tumors of the spine including pathological fractures, vertebral compression fractures, spondylolisthesis, deformity, and scoliosis.
When he is not practicing medicine, Dr. Rider is an avid LSU fan, golfer, hunter, and fisherman. He also enjoys spending time with friends and family, especially his wife and three wonderful daughters.
