Spine Surgery eased George Clooney’s chronic back pain
Accident on set prompts spine surgery
A new father-of-two, George Clooney and his wife Amal are enjoying life only a few years after Clooney went through a spine surgery for debilitating back pain. Clooney still suffers with chronic pain after he injured himself performing his own stunts for the 2005 flick, Syriana.
The accident caused his spine to break and a persistent leaking of cerebrospinal fluid. CBS News reports Clooney still can’t sleep at night because of the pain.
Those injuries left Clooney bedridden and in intense pain, suffering with massive headaches and spinal fluid leaks through his nose. In 2011 the actor told Rolling Stone Magazine he even contemplated suicide.
“I was at a point where I thought, ‘I can’t exist like this. I can’t actually live.” – George Clooney on chronic back pain.
Clooney ended up having a spine surgery to help with the pain. He has said since the procedure, he still gets headaches but the pain is much more manageable.
